According to Standard Sport, Chelsea are weighing up a stunning £200 million raid on Serie A.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be backed heavily this summer after a transfer ban restricted him from signing last summer and the club was unable to make any signing in January.
One of the three Serie A players on Chelsea’s shortlist is Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, who may keen on leaving the Italian club after falling down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri.
It is believed it would take a bid in the region of £55 million to get Juventus to sell.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is the second of the three Serie A players. Lampard was desperate to buy a striker in the January transfer window to compete with Tammy Abraham but failed to get one through the door.
The Blue are keen on signing the £100 million striker but face competition from Spanish club Barcelona.
The third Serie A player linked with a move to west London is AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Donnarumma was hailed as the world’s next great goalkeeper only a few years ago but could be available for £47 million after seeing his stock fall due to AC Milan’s on-field woes.
