The CIES Football Observatory, a Swiss-based research group, has come up with a list of the most valuable young players born in or after 2000 in the top five leagues of Europe, and a Chelsea player made the cut.
The study considered several factors like age, career duration, contract lengths, career progression, performances, man-of-the-match awards and so on.
Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is among the most valuable youngsters in the world and is 5th in the list.
Chelsea have an array of young players within that age range, but only Hudson-Odoi made the top 50 and also boasts the highest ranking among all other Premier League youngsters such as Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood (€50.6m – 8th), Everton’s Moise Kean (€46m – 9th) and Manchester City’s Phil Foden (€43.5m – 10th).
Hudson-Odoi is valued at a whopping €72 million, despite having not had much playing time this season.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is ranked as the most valuable youngster, with a stunning valuation of €198.5 million while his teammate Erling-Braut Haaland is second on the list with a valuation of €101 million.
Real Madrid duo Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior also make the top five and are 3rd and 4th respectively with valuations of €88.9 million and €73.9 million.
