18 year old Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour was named man of the match as Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

The highlight of his performance was his brilliant skill to beat Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.

Despite his man of the match performance against Liverpool, Gilmour has revealed that he was not totally satisfied because the pass to Olivier Giroud after he beat Fabinho was slightly off target.

“It was good but it is football,” he said. “I have to go past players, any player. It was good but my pass wasn’t the best for Oli.”

The 18 year old midfielder also revealed there were no nerves when he found out he would be starting instead of Jorginho.

“No, I think there were more good nerves,” he said. “I have had a bit of a taste of it now so I wasn’t really nervous.

“I was more looking forward to it to go and show what I can do. Tonight was a really good game. We won, stuck together and played really well.

“We did a bit of shape in training in the last few days but even at that I wasn’t too sure. I got told the today before the game.”
