Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour is keeping his head down after being the talk of the media following his recent performances.
The 18-year-old featured in the last two games for Chelsea and was named man of the match in the two games after a brilliant performance in midfield.
Gilmour is being touted to get a senior team call-up to the Scotland national team, and he has admitted that it would be an ‘amazing’ feeling, while also maintaining that he needs to keep working hard.
“It’s a bit mad but that would be amazing to get called-up,” said Gilmour after his man-of-the-match performance in the 4-0 win against Everton on Sunday.
“I need to just keep working hard and doing my best and hopefully get that opportunity.”
Scotland are set to play Israel in the semi-final of the Euro 2020 playoffs later in the month and Gilmour will be hoping that he had done enough to impress national team boss Steve Clarke who was in attendance as Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 last Tuesday.
