Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour has been hailed as the Scottish Xavi due to his style of play, and the youngster has now shown how good he can be, following his man of the match performance against Liverpool on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old Scotsman is eligible to play for England as well, having not featured for the Scottish senior team, but the Blues starlet has turned down any form of allegiance with the Three Lions and is ready to wait his turn with the Scotland senior team.

Gilmour featured on YouTube channel Football Daft’s podcast in June 2019 and was asked about a potential England appearance.

“There’s up to a certain level where England could still snap you up,” the host explains.

“That’s what happened with a couple of players.”

But Gilmour gave a blunt answer as he was replied: “No, I’m Scottish.”

“There’s no chance,” he added.

The host goes on to ask the midfielder if he will go on record as saying he would not be tempted by England.

And Gilmour replied: “No chance.”

The footage was re-shared on Facebook by SportBible on Wednesday, and it has been viewed more than 500,000 times.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

Tammy and Tomori should learn from Gilmour. They’ve disgraced Africa.
