The world has been hit with the coronavirus pandemic that seems to have affected football for the foreseeable future.

Currently, all major leagues around the world have been put on hold. The Europa League and Champions League finals have been suspended, while the Euros tournament which was billed for this summer, has been moved to 2021.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard who’s having an injury hit campaign has revealed that he was looking forward to the tournament, but has admitted that while fans are disappointed with the postponement, there are more important priorities.

“I had planned to play [in Euro 2020]. We will all have another year in 2021, which is a shame, but my ankle will allow me to return to be in shape,” Hazard said.

“I think it is difficult for the fans because they want to see an international tournament every summer, for them it is a shame.

“But I also think that there are priorities in life that forced us to cancel. We are like everyone else, I will wait until the next year.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
