Chelsea boss Frank Lampard still opted to stick with the 3-4-3 system against Bournemouth despite the 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Lampard revealed after the game 2-2 draw against Bournemouth that he loves the 3-4-3 because it gives our wing-backs license to push forward.
Lampard also revealed the 3-4-3 system also helps Chelsea control games.
“Yeah,” Lampard responded, when asked if the advantage of the 3-4-3 means Marcos Alonso and Reece James can get forward.
“It is a system which has worked well for us quite a few times this season.
“I have Oli Giroud up front and it allows people to get inside, nearer him. Second balls and link ups.
“It gives us stability, you up, with the three centre-backs and when you move the ball well you can control games.
“We did manage to control once we settled into the game and livened up. It does help in that way with us. It is a system I like for that.”
