Frank Lampard spent many years in the top flight as a player, and the Blues manager isn’t taking chances regarding Chelsea’s fight for a top four finish.
Lampard has taken his mind off the 4-0 win against Everton and is now focused on Chelsea’s next league game against Aston Villa.
The Blues are still fourth in the league, and Lampard has maintained that this isn’t the time to be comfortable.
The Chelsea manager said after the Everton win: “I am experienced enough to know we go to Aston Villa for our next game and they are fighting for their lives, they have good players so we must try to replicate what we showed today.
“We had a good patch early in the season, we have struggled with inconsistency recently, but who hasn’t in this league apart from Liverpool, and in a transitional period, although I don’t accept that, it is understandable.
“So we have to work as have today to show that we can finish [the season] with strength and get better.”
There are nine games left until the end of the season, and Chelsea must maintain their recent good form in those upcoming games.
