Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has invested heavily in Chelsea’s academy and has always wanted a manager that will give youth a chance at the club.

Several Chelsea managers including Jose Mourinho had been reluctant to give youngsters game time at the club but all that has now changed under Frank Lampard.

Lampard has handed senior debuts to eight Chelsea academy players this season, a record that will delight Chelsea owner Abramovich.

Chelsea youngsters Ian Maatsen, Marc Guehi, Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour, Armando Broja, Tino Anjorin, Tariq Lamptey and Reece James were all handed debuts by Lampard this season.

Players like Mount and James have played lots of first team football already while Gilmour has played Chelsea’s last two games, winning the man of the match award in both games.

  4. Good job frank, but I must say Jorgihno is our major problem leading to us conceeding goals, last two games was cool,clean sheets… Keep it up
