Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic caused outrage for flying to Belgrade and breaking self isolation procedures.
Chelsea were one of the clubs strongly linked with Luka Jovic after a standout season with Frankfurt. However, it was Real Madrid who won the signature of the Serbian last summer.
Jovic has struggled to perform for the Los Blancos, and reports claim that he further angered Real Madrid as he failed to follow the rules for the coronavirus that has badly hit many parts of the world.
The player’s dad, however, defended Jovic, saying his son has done nothing wrong but is being made to look like a criminal.
“If he has to go to prison, let him go,” Milan Jovic told the Serbian radio station Puls.
“I agree completely with the president and the prime minister, but only if he’s guilty of wrongdoing.
“I’d support that decision if he’d done something wrong, but he arrived in Belgrade and stayed at home.”
Pictures circulated on social media of Jovic allegedly out with his partner Sofia Milosevic on the streets of Belgrade to celebrate her birthday, but this was rubbished.
Milan Jovic added: “Sofia is pregnant and she can’t go out. There are photos of the two out having fun, but they are from Spain, months ago.”
