Everyone around the globe is trying to put resources together in order to fight the coronavirus pandemic that has suspended many activities around the world.
Mayor Sadiq Khan has reportedly requested support from Chelsea and other London clubs to fight the coronavirus.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Watford each received a letter from the mayor, to help fight Covid-19.
The letter requested support in three key areas:
- Staff: all the clubs have doctors, physios and other clinically-trained staff who would be of great use to the NHS.
- Equipment: mobile catering facilities such as food heaters and refrigerators could be used by a number of hospitals set up in the city.
- Accommodation: the mayor asks the clubs to assist in providing housing for the NHS staff.
The report also claims that all clubs have a ‘keen desire to assist’, and it’s likely that they will send their academy doctors to join the frontline effort.
Meanwhile, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has already showed his support by offering NHS staff free accommodation at the Millenium Hotel.
