It’s definitely a season of ‘life matters’ and health is more important at this time due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Football leagues around the world have been suspended and the Premier League seems to be on suspension until April, of which it is suspected that the April resumption date isn’t feasible.

The Professional Footballers’ Association has now announced that the PFA Awards Ceremony 2020 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The award was billed to take place on April 26 but has now been moved to a date that hasn’t been known yet.

The PFA explained in a statement that they were hopeful the ceremony could take place later in the year.

“This crisis extends far beyond the world of football and we must take steps in accordance with the welfare of the wider general public.

“The current situation does not lend itself to mass gatherings of this nature and given the uncertainty of when the current season might end and the potential threats to the health of our members and guests the event is not feasible at this time.

“We hope that by making this early decision it provides clarity moving forward and we hope to be in a position to reschedule the event later in the year.”
