Chelsea are through to the quarterfinal of the FA Cup after a deserved 2-0 victory against the European champions.
Chelsea were the better side in the game and the players gave a hundred percent to win this game.
See the player ratings for this game:
Kepa: Was excellent all through the game and made a triple save in the first half to deny Liverpool from scoring. Justified his start with a good clean sheet. 8/10
Azpilicueta: Superb captain’s performance as the Spaniard gave his all. Worked really hard and put in a strong defensive shift. 8/10
Rudiger: Started the game shaky in defence and could have cost the team. Picked up later on and put in a good performance to help the team keep a clean sheet. 7/10
Zouma: Made an error that almost cost his team after a shaky start to the game. Got better afterwards and did great in defence. 7/10
Alonso: Good game from the left flank as he supported the attack and was also good defensively. Troubled Liverpool with one good free-kick. 8/10
Gilmour: Definitely the man of the match. The youngster controlled the midfield with such audacity and showed maturity beyond his age. 9/10
Kovacic: Started the game brightly and was doing very well before an injury forced him out before half-time. 6/10
Barkley: Stunning performance from the England international and he went on a mazy run from the centre of the pitch with a nice finish to seal the win for Chelsea. 8/10
Willian: Scored Chelsea’s first goal and was looking threatening until injury forced him out quickly after the restart. 7/10
Pedro: Worked very hard, played his best game of the season, was always a threat on the counter, but missed one good chance in the second half to make it 3-0. 7.5/10
Giroud: He might not have scored a goal but even the fans appreciated his work as he was given a standing ovation when subbed off late in the game. Used his height and body to trouble Virgil van Dijk and was a beast upfront. Unlucky that his strike hit the woodwork late on. Looked exhausted in the latter stages of the second-half. 8/10
Subs
Mount: Came on for the injured Kovacic and played really well. Worked hard and was dangerous going forward. Had one good free-kick hit the bar in the second half. 7/10
Jorginho: Came on for the injured Willian and looked decent. 6/10
Reece James: Very late sub for Giroud.
Conratulations to my team for the victory at FA cup over the leading Liverpool.
