Premier League bosses are under pressure to cancel Premier League games this weekend following La Liga’s decision to suspend football for the next two weeks given the current coronavirus outbreak.
According to Daily Express, La Liga took the action to suspend all games for at least the next two weeks in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The news comes after a meeting was held between the Spanish Football Federation, La Liga itself and the players’ union.
Matches had been originally planned to hold behind closed doors but all matches have now been suspended by the La Liga.
There is now mounting pressure on the Premier League to make a stand with an emergency meeting taking place today.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to hold a meeting with the Premier League to discuss the next step to take.
