Chelsea signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in January 2018, and the World Cup winner has proven to be a very important player for the club.
Surprisingly, the Frenchman hasn’t played much under Frank Lampard this season and was billed to leave the club for Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
After a failed move to Inter, Giroud has proven himself to Blues boss Frank Lampard that he has what it takes to lead the line for the club and again put in a massive shift as Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 in the FA Cup fifth round tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Giroud has helped Chelsea win the Europa League and FA Cup, and Gunners fans couldn’t help but wish back for their former asset.

Giroud was also linked with a move to Tottenham, and Spurs fans are also bemoaning the club’s failed attempt to sign the 33-year-old.
Giroud’s case is surely that of ‘you don’t know what you have until you lose it’. Thankfully, Chelsea didn’t lose him in January – probably the best move the club ever made in the winter window.
