Chelsea were one of the clubs strongly linked with Luka Jovic after a standout season with Frankfurt. However, it was Real Madrid who won the signature of the Serbian last summer.
Things haven’t gone too well for Jovic in Madrid and he’s being linked with an exit just after his first year at the club.
Jovic was a high profile £50m signing for Madrid, but has scored just two goals in all competitions for the Spaniards this season and Madrid are now keen to offload him.
Jovic has further angered Real Madrid as he failed to follow the rules for the coronavirus that has badly hit many parts of the world.
Jovic was permitted by the club to go home to Serbia, and according to The Mirror, having permitted Jovic to leave self-isolation to fly home, Real were unimpressed to discover he disregarded Serbia’s own coronavirus safeguards.
Jovic has now apologised saying: “I am very sorry that some people did not do their jobs professionally and did not give me instructions on how to behave regarding isolation.
“In Spain I was allowed to go to the pharmacy and the supermarket, which isn’t the case here.”
It’s unclear whether Chelsea will still be interested in the striker.
