Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud must have had his dreams of playing in the Euros burst after this summer’s tournament was moved to next year, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Giroud was desperate to leave Chelsea in January due to lack of playing opportunities, but has given his best to the club after the move to Inter Milan broke down.
Despite being 33, Giroud is still confident of his abilities and hasn’t given up hopes of featuring in the Euros next summer.
According to the Express, Giroud has told friends that he is determined to play on and be a part of France’s team at the rescheduled Euro 2021.
A source close to Giroud said, according to the Express: “Olivier still has the idea to continue to fight and enjoy himself after this summer.
“He also has the ambition of putting pressure on the younger players in the national team by saying to them “you are strong and you have the future in front of you but I am still here to push you.”
“Now, next season, he will have an additional challenge, to jump on the wagon that leads to the Euros.”
