Angel Gomes’ current Manchester United deal is due to expire at the end of the season and a move to Chelsea appeals to the teenager given Frank Lampard’s faith in youth at Chelsea.
The 19-year-old is frustrated with his lack of gametime this season at Manchester United and has refused to extend his contract at Manchester United.
A report from the Metro states that the club have offered Gomes a weekly wage of around £25,000 and Chelsea are reportedly willing to match United’s offer for Gomes.
Amid Chelsea’s interest in Gomes, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent a message to the 19 year old winger.
Solskjaer said: “We hope we can convince him [Gomes] in the near future and long term future that he’s a Manchester United player.”
