The FA, Premier League and EFL jointly announced today that there will be no professional football matches played until April 4 in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Football in England was billed to continue as announced on Thursday, but after the likes of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive to the virus, there were calls for an emergency meeting on Friday morning, and they reached a decision to halt the league until next month.
UEFA also confirmed that next week’s Champions League and Europa League matches are also postponed.
