The Premier League has been suspended since March 9 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Football in England was due to resume on April 30, depending on the progress in eradicating coronavirus from the UK.

So far, progress seems to be farfetched and one could only wonder when football in Europe will also resume, as UEFA activities have also been placed on hold.

UEFA had earlier issued a resolution to complete all domestic and European club competitions by June 30, and UEFA president Alexander Ceferin expects the worst to happen if the season is not restarted.

Ceferin believes that the current season might be lost if the pandemic isn’t brought under control real soon.

“If we don’t succeed in restarting, the season will probably be lost,” Alexander Ceferin said as he assessed UEFA’s chances to proceed with the season.

According to Football London, the FA, Premier League and English Football League are currently planning to finish the 2019/20 season behind closed doors over a period of four to six weeks starting in July.
