Christian Pulisic is in his first season at Chelsea, and the 21-year-old has had a season of ups and downs in his first Premier League season due to injury.

Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has admitted that the American international has proven him wrong as he thought that the former Borussia Dortmund star will struggle to cope with the physical nature of the Premier League.

“I thought he was going to struggle a bit with the physicality of the Premier League but he has done great,” Marcos Alonso told Fox Sports of Christian Pulisic.

“He has missed a little bit of continuity to show even more and to keep improving but I think he is going to be a great player for Chelsea.

“Hopefully with this time off, he can come back stronger from the injury he had.”

Chelsea signed Pulisic for £57.6m, and the man famed as Captain America has scored 6 goals and bagged 6 assists in 23 outings across all competitions. But he has been unable to feature for the club since suffering an injury against Brighton on New Year’s Day.
