Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi mutually terminated his contract with Turkish Lig club Trabzonspor based on a row over the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mikel has been in talks with Brazilian side Botafogo ahead of a likely move to Brazil.

Botafogo has already made an official proposal and are awaiting Mikel’s reply, with sources revealing he is having a talk about the deal with his long-term partner, Olga Dyachenko.

ESPN report that Mikel has been offered a mouth-watering 18-month contract worth $2million by Botafogo.

The Brazilian club however maintain that they have reached the limit of what they can offer the Nigerian, but are optimistic that the 32-year-old will eventually sign.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo report that Internacional officials have got in contact with Mikel and are desperate to bring him to Brazil.
