According to Daily Star, Barcelona are willing to take a £100 million loss on Philippe Coutinho by accepting as little as £50 million for the former Liverpool star.
Recent reports had claimed Chelsea is considering dropping interest in the Brazilian midfielder but reports of Barcelona willing to accept £50million for Coutinho could tempt Chelsea into signing the Brazilian.
Coutinho joined Barcelona for a club-record £145m in January 2018 with the Brazilian believed to be one of the highest-paid players at the Nou Camp.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich and the German club is not willing to part with the £105 million needed to make Coutinho’s stay at Bayern Munich permanent.
Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Quique Setien recently admitted he likes the Brazilian.
He told RAC 1 on April 15: “I like him a lot and in principle he’s a Barcelona player. They [any interested club] would have to pay his clause or offer a sum, which the club would accept.
“I am counting on him for when next season starts. I don’t know what he wants, maybe I will have to speak with him to ask. He is a great player, no doubt.”
