Gilmour featured from the start as Manchester United defeated Chelsea for the second time this season in the Carabao Cup clash back in October, with United winning that particular fixture 2-1.
Gilmour has now revealed that he received an encouraging text message from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay after the game.

Asked to name his most difficult opponent, Gilmour said during a live Twitch stream: “In a game I’d say Scott McTominay, not just because he’s Scottish, it was just in that game I found it very difficult.
“[There’s] no rivalry, I don’t know him that well. But after the match he did text me and said, ‘keep doing what you’re doing’.
“I thought that was really nice of him.”
