According to Spanish publication Sport, Chelsea are already in talks with Philippe Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, over a summer move to Stamford Bridge for the Brazilian midfielder.
The 27 year old is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but is reportedly open to joining Chelsea with the German club reluctant on triggering the option-to-buy clause in the Brazilian’s loan agreement.
Barcelona are set to make a huge loss on the transfer of Coutinho to Stamford Bridge with the Blues only prepared to offer a fee of around €80 million for Coutinho, which falls €10 million short of Barcelona’s €90 million valuation of the player.
However, Chelsea want the Brazilian to join on loan with an option to buy, with the Blues prepared to pay Barcelona a loan fee of around €13 million and also take over the player’s salary.
Chelsea will prioritise the signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and will only push for the signing of Coutinho if the Blues miss out on Sancho.
