With many workers facing a period of slashed wages due to Covid-19, Chelsea have informed their non-playing staff that they will receive their April wages in full despite lack of matchday activity, reports claim.

Chelsea have also done a lot of noble gestures this period of the pandemic, and the Blues have also confirmed that they will provide 78,000 meals to the NHS and charities that support the elderly and vulnerable.

According to Goal, Chelsea will pay stewards, hospitality, ground staff and even those individuals who sell raffle tickets outside the ground.

There were fears about the welfare of matchday staff this period as they will not be required to perform any function without the usual thousands of spectators piling into Stamford Bridge. This is indeed a good move by the club.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
