The Premier League, like many leagues across Europe, has been suspended since early March, since the coronavirus pandemic took the world by storm.

The initial resumption plan made by the Premier League was for football to resume by April 4, but even that was far from achievable. The Premier League went on to set a resumption date of April 30, but it’s hard to see how that can be achieved, as the coronavirus pandemic still rages on.

Meanwhile, the Belgium league has wrapped up their 2019/20 season and Club Brugge has been named as the winner of the league.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has revealed that he has no idea when football around the globe will resume, and there has been calls for the Premier League season to be voided.

The Premier League has a lot at stake financially if the season is voided, and reports claim that 20 clubs were told to prepare for a return in June after the Premier League reached a ‘tentative’ agreement with the government that would allow matches to be played behind-closed-doors.

According to the Mirror, Premier League are in ‘advanced talks’ with the government over plans to resume the season in June.

The Premier League has vowed to complete the season, albeit in the safest manner possible, and with 92 matches remaining and the possibility that large sections of society will still be in self-isolation, there was a discussion over whether matches should be made available to terrestrial television and the matter is ongoing.

If this is approved as the Premier League hope, all teams and squads will have to comply to the strictest of measures to see matches played.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
