RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a summer transfer move to Chelsea, with Frank Lampard keen on strengthening Chelsea’s defence in the summer transfer window.
RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche has urged the 21 year old to take his time before making a decision on his future amid interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona.
“This is a far-reaching decision for a player. He should take his time with that,” Krosche told Kicker.
“He has to be clear about exactly what he is going to do, how he sees his future.
“Maybe that has changed a bit as a result of the new situation.”
Meanwhile, Upamecano recently revealed he won’t make a decision on his future until the end of the season.
Upamecano said: “I feel very comfortable in Leipzig. I love my teammates, the staff and my club.
“At the moment I am still under contract until 2021. It is my duty to continue to train well and play my games.
“Even if I know that there are clubs that want me, I stay on the ground with both feet, that’s for sure.
“We will discuss my future with my advisors and my family at the end of the season.
“But as I said, I’m in Leipzig and I want to achieve my goals with the club.
“I don’t feel like talking about anything else right now. I want to end the season with Leipzig in the best possible way and nothing else.”
Upamecano is reportedly valued at around £70 million by RB Leipzig.
