Leicester City midfielder Ndidi Wilfred is doing well with the Foxes, and the 22-year-old is well respected at the club, having proven himself since N’Golo Kante was sold to Chelsea in 2016.
Ndidi is a Nigerian just like Blues legend John Mikel Obi, and both featured in the Nigerian national team, and Ndidi has revealed that he looked up to the Chelsea legend while coming up as a youngster to the point where he was nervous to talk to him when they met and he couldn’t even tackle him in training.

He recalled in an online Q&A: “I was nervous when I first met him in Belgium. I couldn’t take a picture with him, I was scared. Even for training, I couldn’t be close to him and tackle him.
“Mikel is a legend that we do not appreciate enough. He is a big name and a legend. The first time I couldn’t talk to him at all.
“Only if there was a conversation going on that I could join in. I couldn’t talk to him on a one on one basis.”
