According to The Sun, Manchester United are growing increasingly confident of winning the battle for Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
Chelsea and German club Borussia Dortmund are also desperate to sign the 16 year old midfielder after impressive displays in his debut season for Birmingham City.
Bellingham has held talks with Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund but Manchester United feel they have blown the 16 year old away with their charm offensive that saw the teenager meet Sir Alex Ferguson and given tour of Carrington training complex.
An Old Trafford source told The Sun: “We felt that he was blown away with what he was shown and what was said to him by all.
“We believe he was impressed with what we can offer. We have a duty of care to young players and want to develop them.”
Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair doesn’t think Bellingham is better than the academy players at Chelsea.
Sinclair said: “He has to think about playing games, getting better and improving as a player – which I think will be very difficult for him to do at Chelsea.
“You look at the youngsters coming through the ranks at Chelsea and you’d say that there are better players coming through the academy than Bellingham anyway.
“So, if he is going to move on from Birmingham and kick on at a higher level, it is really important that he goes to a club where he can play week in, week out as that’s the only way he’ll improve and fulfil the potential that he’s got. ‘I think Bellingham needs to very wary of his next move.”
