Manchester United winger Angel Gomes is wanted by Chelsea, with his contract at Manchester United set to expire at the end of the season.
Despite being highly rated at Manchester United, Gomes is reluctant to sign a new deal because he is concerned about the amount of playing time he will receive at United.
Under Frank Lampard, Chelsea have been willing to give youth a chance with Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour all breaking into the first team this season.
Chelsea are hoping that commitment to blooding youth and the appeal of Lampard at the helm could persuade Gomes to move to London.
Gomes has revealed his plans for future amid interest from Chelsea.
According to Gomes, he wants to remain at Manchester United and break into the first team despite interest from Chelsea.
“I’ve seen it over the years, coming up from the academy and being at United my whole career,” Gomes told Manchester United’s official website.
“It’s what I want to go on to do – win trophies for the club.”
