Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has finally replied Karim Benzema after he was called an inferior player by the Real Madrid striker.

“People say you cannot compare a Formula One car with a go-kart and the only thing I can say on the matter is that I’m a world champion, so that isn’t bad for a go-kart,” Giroud told French publication Be Foot.

Benzema recently compared himself to a F1 car while labelling Giroud a go-kart.

“You know what, I’m going to respond to everyone and fast. You don’t compare F1 with carting. I know I am F1 and I’m being kind,” Benzema said recently about Giroud.

France have been a better team since Giroud replaced Benzema. France failed to advance past the quarter final stage in their last three tournaments before Giroud replaced Benzema.

After Giroud replaced Benzema, they got to the final of Euro 2016 and won the 2018 World Cup.

Giroud has also scored more goals for France than Benzema. Giroud has scored 39 goals in 97 appearances for France at an average of 0.40 goals per game, while Benzema has netted 27 goals in 81 appearances for France at an average of 0.3 goals per game.
