April 23 marks an important day in the Chelsea career of former striker Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard scored his first Chelsea goal on this day in 2011 as Chelsea beat West Ham 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Following his £50 million transfer from Liverpool, which was a then British transfer record, it took Torres 14 games to finally score his first Chelsea goal.
Torres had gone 732 minutes without a goal for Chelsea and looked desperately short of confidence in his 13 previous appearances.
In total, Torres made 172 appearances for Chelsea and scored 45 goals in all competitions, failing to match his Liverpool form which saw him score 81 goals in 142 games.
