Petr Cech was a Chelsea goalkeeper between 2004 and 2015, and the legendary goalkeeper came up against a number of tough opponents.
Cech garnered close to 500 appearances for Chelsea in his 11-year stay at the club and won four Premier League titles and the Champions League at Stamford Bridge after signing from Rennes.
Cech has now revealed that former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, is the player he was most wary about.
“Wayne Rooney,” Cech told Chelsea’s official website. “Every time we played against United I had to make sure I was aware every time he had the ball, because he was very unpredictable and very clever.
“He is a guy who can chase, who can fight, who can run, who is clever with his shot.
“He could score from the halfway line, he could try and chip you if you were too high. That was a challenge I enjoyed.”
Indeed, the Chelsea defence at the time used to be wary of Rooney, who was a big game player and always made his presence felt when playing against the Blues.
