While the Blues are currently not interested in the latest Brazilian wonderkid Talles Magno, making a transfer U-turn and joining the race for the Vasco da Gama won’t be a bad idea given his transfer fee.
According to Daily Star, Vasco da Gama are currently in a financial crisis and are looking at selling some of their prized assets including the 17 year old Magno.
He is understood to have a release clause in the region of €50m (£44m) but Vasco are said to be willing to accept bids of around €30m (£26m).
Magno broke into Vasco da Gama’s first-team in the second half of last season and the 17-year-old forward has established himself as one of the most exciting youngsters in Brazil with a series of outstanding performances.
Premier League rivals Liverpool are reportedly leading the race for the forward and as a Chelsea fan, I will want the Blues to join the race for the Brazilian sensation.
Reflecting on his rise into Vasco’s first team set-up as a teenager, Magno told AS: “It was very important in my life because I made the leap to the professional team. [Making my debut for] Vasco, which is what I worked for from the beginning, was very special, a huge emotion.
“I have always worked to the maximum to be able to play as I am doing in the [first] team. I am very happy about that.”
