According to Italian website Calciomercato via Daily Express, Chelsea have taken concrete steps to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
The sought-after Germany international has been linked with several clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona.
The Blues will need to shatter the club record fee paid for Kepa Arrizabalaga to sign Havertz because Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly demanding between £89m – £107million for the young midfielder who scored a brace in Leverkusen’s 4-1 victory over Werder Bremen on Monday evening
The £71.5million spent on the transfer of Arrizabalaga in 2018 is currently Chelsea’s club record for a signing.
