Real Madrid youngster Achraf Hakimi has impressed on loan at Borussia Dortmund, and the Blues have been linked with a summer move for the 21 year old fullback.

The Borussia Dortmund wide-man has now broken a Bundesliga record as he has been named the Bundesliga’s fastest player on record, with the Real Madrid loanee’s feat marking the third time this season.

Germany’s top flight only just began collecting detailed data in the 2011-12 season, and Hakimi first broke into the top 10 during Lucien Favre’s side’s action-packed 3-3 draw at home to RB Leipzig, clocking a top speed of 22.49mph (36.20 km/h), according to the Bundesliga’s official website.

Hakimi then broke his own record with an improved top speed of 22.67mph (36.49 km/h) when Dortmund beat Union Berlin 5-0 at Signal Iduna Park.

The Real Madrid man has blossomed with Dortmund and has not missed a single Bundesliga match this term, delivering four goals and laying on 10 assists throughout the campaign to date, while also netting four goals in eight Champions League appearances.

Dortmund star Marco Reus has admitted that the pace of the Moroccan is incredible.

“Achraf is a real weapon for us,” he told reporters. “His speed is incredible.”

Hakimi is in his second-year in his Dortmund loan deal, and no agreement has been reached over the future of Hakimi, his agent has recently revealed.

“The contract with Real Madrid is still the one we negotiated in 2017 and that runs to June 2022,” agent Alejandro Camano told Spox.

“We’ll have to wait and see. After the coronavirus crisis is over, we’ll sit down with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund to discuss the matter.”
