Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has revealed he was not a big fan of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho before he joined Chelsea in 2013.
However, Schwarzer admits his opinion of the Portuguese changed after joining Chelsea.
“Before I went to Chelsea, I was never, from the outside, I was never a real big fan,” Schwarzer told Man on the Street.
“I didn’t like all the antics, as a player in an opponent team.
“But then obviously it’s one thing to judge people from afar and just see the media’s perception, fans’ perception and so forth, and then it’s different when you’re actually in that environment and you work with someone closely.
“So my opinion of him changed dramatically.
“One of the things that is true to form is that a lot of people say ‘Is it a show? Is he playing up to the media? Is he creating a diversion at times to distract from everyone else to take the pressure off his players?’ – yes, he does that as well.
“But he also loves it himself.
“But he’s also brutally honest within that changing room, the same as he is with the media at times.”
