According to a report by L’Equipe, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been summoned to appear in court to give testimony in the case against his ex-agent Nouari Khiari.
Kante parted ways with Khiari in 2017, and the Frenchman last year, sued his former agent for fraud and breach of trust.
In return, Khiari responded with a claim that Kante owes him at least €3.8m and demanded for his former client to be called to court, claiming that Kante owes him according to the contract they signed back in 2016.
Kante is now to appear in court in Paris, with the subpoena delivered to him on March 11, before the United Kingdom entered the lockdown and the Premier League season was officially suspended.
“This subpoena is a logical and legal consequence,” Khiari’s representative told L’Equipe. “Rather than fabricate in front of the press, Mr Kante will have to tell the truth in court.”
