Liverpool and Chelsea are in the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, with Liverpool reportedly leading the race for the striker.
RB Leipzig are insisting Werner will only be allowed to leave if an offer matching his release clause of £49 million is received.
Liverpool are reluctant to pay Werner’s release clause and Jurgen Klopp has now reportedly sent a message to the striker.
According to The Mirror, Klopp has been straight with the Germany international forward, despite expressing a long-term interest in signing him, by insisting the transfer market has been turned upside, slashing his potential value.
Liverpool are reportedly not willing to pay above £30 million for Werner due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
