Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was responsible for the signing of Nemanja Matic from Benfica back in 2014, and the midfielder would eventually win two Premier League titles with the Blues before his exit from the club after three years.
It was Mourinho again, who engineered his move to Manchester United, as Matic was sold to United for £40m in 2017.
Matic has had some difficulty at Old Trafford, and current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed what Matic told him about his time at London and Manchester.
“Anything we do is magnified or scrutinised,” Solskjaer told United We Stand.
“Nemanja [Matić] told me that when he lived in London, he could walk around and never be spotted. As soon as he became a Manchester United player that all changed.”
Matic was part of the PFA team of the season in the 2014-15 campaign, but has failed to win any trophy since his move to Manchester United.
