Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has revealed what he thinks about Chelsea’s signing, Hakim Ziyech.

The Dutchman hailed the Blues for acquiring the talented Ajax player, and also revealed that beyond Ziyech’s ability to score and assist, the Moroccan also works hard on the pitch.

“He has developed tremendously at Ajax. Not so much in creativity, but as a team player,” the former Manchester United manager told NOS.

“The public have realised that he works very hard for a creative player. And then he also scores goals and gives assists. Then you are a special player.”

Hakim Ziyech has scored 29 goals for Ajax in the last two seasons, which is exactly what Chelsea need – an extra source of goals.

In 35 games across all competitions for Ajax this season, the 27 year old Moroccan international scored 9 goals and provided 18 assists.
