Ahead of next season, Chelsea are already preparing a good squad as Frank Lampard is keen on strengthening the squad ahead of the new season, having been unable to make any player signings in the past two transfer windows.

With the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Chelsea must have spent around £90m, and the Blues are also being linked with Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell – two deals that could cost the club well over £150m.

While clubs have been hit badly by the effect of the coronavirus pandemic, Chelsea chiefs will be licking their lips that the club has a number of players that could be sold this summer and raise enough money to secure more deals.

Already, it could be said that the Eden Hazard money from the sale to Real Madrid will pay for the signing of Ziyech and Werner. Sales of the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Emerson Palmieri, Davide Zappacosta and Victor Moses can bring enough funds to the club’s purse that will go a long way to secure deals for Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

Monaco refused to exercise their option for a £35million permanent purchase of Bakayoko, but with West Ham interested in the midfielder, the Blues could get between £25m to £35m.

Inter and Juve have been linked with Emerson Palmieri, and the Italian could be sold between £15m to £20m. Michy Batshuayi who’s attracting Interests from Premier League sides could be sold for slightly more than £25m. Chelsea right-back Davide Zappacosta could as well be sold for up to £20m.

Danny Drinkwater, who joined from Leicester for £35million might not command such figures anymore due it his tarnished reputation and lack of game time for two years now, but his sale can fetch around £10m to £15m, same with Victor Moses.

There are so many players in the Chelsea books that should have long departed the club. The sales of Baba Rahman, Lucas Piazon, Matt Miazga, Lewis Baker and Kenedy could further free some funds for the Blues.
