Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted Chelsea could be the team heading into the upcoming transfer window with the biggest advantage.
The Blues didn’t take part in the last two transfer windows due to the transfer ban, and sold star player Eden Hazard for a massive fee.
However, ahead of next season, Chelsea have already confirmed the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and the Blues are also pushing for more deals, with Timo Werner set complete a move to Chelsea.
While Chelsea are vibrant in the transfer market already, same can’t be said about other clubs, and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted that the impact of the coronavirus hasn’t affected Chelsea, especially as the club was hit with a transfer ban.
“All teams are going to take a hit financially this summer and it will have an impact on the transfer market,” he said. “There are a few big deals going on at the moment, but only with a few clubs and Chelsea look like they are in for most of the players who might move.
“They had a transfer ban last summer and still have the (Eden) Hazard and (Alvaro) Morata money to spend. Chelsea are going to have a right go this season and they have an opportunity to make some ground on Liverpool if they are not going to be spending too much.”
