Chelsea are reportedly in negotiation with Bayer Leverkusen to sign 20 year old attacking midfielder Kai Havertz but the Blues have now been offered a tempting option.
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly demanding over £70 million for the 20 year old.
According to Spanish media outlet Sport via Metro, Barcelona have returned to Chelsea in an effort to offload Philippe Coutinho and have lowered their demands, now making him a cheaper option than Havertz.
Chelsea were keen on signing the Brazilian midfielder before switching to Kai Havertz due to the demands of Barcelona and the player himself.
Barcelona are now offering Coutinho for £44.5 million which is less than the over £70 million Bayer Leverkusen are demanding for Havertz.
Barcelona also want a player to be included in the deal – a centre-back or a left-back. They also expect any player Chelsea add to the deal to have a value of £26 million.
Although Barcelona prefer a permanent transfer for Coutinho this summer, they might be tempted to accept a loan with a mandatory option to purchase.
It is believed Barcelona have also contacted Tottenham Hotspur with their terms for Coutinho.
