Chelsea fans were elated when news broke that the Blues have triggered the release clause of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
Werner is set to join Chelsea next season, with reports claiming that he has agreed a five year package of £200,000-a-week wages.
With 31 goals in all competitions this season, Chelsea fans are keen to have a top striker next season.
However, Werner stunned fans after missing a one on one against Hoffenheim.
Werner was played through on goal just before half-time and had the goal at his mercy, but he blazed the ball over the bar much to everyone’s surprise.
“After watching #TimoWerner wasting another opportunity 1v1, it is absolutely safe to say that his head is definitely elsewhere,” one claimed.
“Timo Werner just missed an open chance that gave me Alvaro Morata PTSD,” wrote a worried Blues supporter. “Hold my heart”.
“Timo Werner will be the second arrival of Morata at Chelsea,” a Chelsea fan warned.
Another Blues fan came to his defence, saying: “Because Timo Werner missed one shot doesn’t make him the new Morata, most players has missed scoring goals opportunities… like they are all human just like us”
Thankfully, Leipzig won the clash 2-0 thanks to a first-half brace from Dani Olmo.
