Time is running out for Chelsea to complete the transfer of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
The Blues were hoping to announce the transfer of the Germany international this week after beating Liverpool to the signing of the RB Leipzig forward.
Chelsea agreed his to pay his £49 million release clause and according to reports, Werner has agreed a five year deal with the Blues.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea have until Monday to complete the signing of Werner or face missing out on the 24-year-old.
Werner’s release clause expires after Monday and if Chelsea fail to complete the transfer by Monday, RB Leipzig could bump up the value of their star asset, pricing the Blues out of a deal.
Chelsea have been unable to complete Werner’s transfer due to Werner having not yet completed a medical due to logistical problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
