According to Spanish media outlet Sport, Chelsea transfer target Philippe Coutinho has made a personal plea to Jurgen Klopp over a potential transfer, with the Brazilian willing to accept a pay cut to make the move happen.
Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018 but has struggled to impress in Spain. The Brazilian is set to leave Camp Nou this summer with Barca actively looking for a buyer.
Despite Coutinho’s plea to return to Liverpool, Sport claims Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn’t interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder this summer.
Klopp reportedly feels signing Coutinho isn’t what Liverpool needs and believes there are other areas in the Liverpool squad that needs strengthening.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are only prepared to sign Coutinho on loan with an option to buy but Chelsea’s interest in the Brazilian will cool off if the Blues complete a move for Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen.
