On Thursday night, reports emerged that RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner had agreed a deal to join Chelsea next season after the Blues triggered his £49 million release clause.
Chelsea have reportedly offered the 24 year old striker a £200,000 a week contract which will make him the second highest earner at the club behind Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
This report has triggered interest from many pundits, coaches and ex players around the world, with Werner having been a widely sought after player before Chelsea made the move for the German striker.
Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has hailed Chelsea’s move for Werner, and he believes that Chelsea’s football will suit the 24-year-old.

“I think it’s a good decision for both sides. For Timo, because he fits there, because the way [Chelsea] play football suits him,” the former Germany midfielder explained to Sky.
“I think that in Chelsea he has decided on a club where he has a better chance of playing, which is very important to him.
“The team will be renewed, it will certainly be strengthened and a lot of money will be spent in Chelsea to knock again at the top. A good young team is being built there, which is very promising.”
