Despite the criticisms that have followed Timo Werner’s transfer to Chelsea, RB Leipzig showed that they have no hard feelings towards future Chelsea attacker Timo Werner by presenting him with a specially-commissioned mosaic before the club’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Four years ago, Werner moved from Stuttgart to Leipzig, and he has since set the Bundesliga on fire with his goals.

This season alone, Werner has scored 32 goals and created 13 more in 43 outings for the club, proving his importance to the club.

Ahead of his switch to Chelsea, Leipzig has now moved to appreciate the 24-year-old for his impact at the club over the past four years.

Meanwhile, Werner has admitted that he’s delighted to be moving to Chelsea next season, and will officially become a Chelsea player from July 1.

“I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club,” Werner said.

“I, of course, want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years. You will forever be in my heart.

“I look forward to next season with my new teammates, my new manager and of course the Chelsea fans. Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
